That is not how copyright protection works at all. I think the game’s copyright owner would tend to disagree.

Actually – this is how copyright protection works for these specific series of books, since they are published by the company itself. The individual writers sold the copyright over their creative works to Guardians of Order directly, and thus had no legal recourse when GoA went belly-up. See this for more information on the legal status of books published by companies that have filed for bankruptcy. (This is actually pretty common in the gaming / entertainment indsutry, and artists seldom have any legal grounds to stand on after they sell their works to a larger company that later goes bankrupt.)

Apparently White wolf Bought the rights to all of GOO’s games but it’s been so long i doubt they have the rights to use the SM name legally

Yeah, the third edition of Big Eyes Small Mouth was released under WW’s Arthaus imprint, IIRC.

Kind of a shame that the rpg has fallen into obscurity, especially with Crystal’s revitalising the brand. It’s a neat book that could use an overhaul, especially as the rules haven’t aged all that well. Think anyone from the FATE crowd might want to take a crack at the Magical Girl genre?

Also, thank you for posting the rpg to the site; I would be using my own book, but I got some of the English voice cast to sign it at a convention…

BTW, the links for the High res pictures are not working for me on any browser. :(

Really nice to have the low res pages of these books, though! :)

I managed to find a few cheap used print versions of these books. Can’t wait to try this game! I loved abs still love Sailor Moon! ^_^
