Smile Magazine Tokyopop Downloads Online

Happy Miss Dream Monday everyone! Before I start listing off today’s postings, those of you who stayed up last night likely saw that Sailor Moon Channel’s news page was updated with a big announcement. On Sunday, August 4th, 5PM JPN time (converts to August 4th 4AM EST), there will be another 20th Anniversary celebration much in the vein of last year’s. This one will be focused on announcements, including information on the new musical, new anime, and more! This will be streamed on Niconico for premium account holders, of which we do have an account. We intend to do what we did for last year’s event, in that we will live stream information on our twitter account, release a raw not long after, and a fansub as soon as possible. It is scheduled for an hour, so we’re hoping for a quicker turnaround at this point. We are also hoping to make a special page here to stream from our stream as well as have our tweets update below it as we make them. Essentially, as live as a fansub as we can make. Details on everything we will be doing will be ironed out through the week. Keep an eye things here and all social media, as we will be working very hard to get everything from this event available to all of you as soon as possible. This will be a huge day for Sailor Moon news, mark your calendar and set your alarms!

With all that said, to start off today’s update we finally post up our scans of Smile Magazine Tokyopop! In the late 1990s to early 2000s, Smile Magazine Tokyopop was a magazine geared towards female teenagers with some manga added in. However it later became much more focused on manga, publishing serializations of Sailor Moon, Peach Girl, and Juline. Smile Magazine Tokyopop posted chapters from Sailor Moon’s Dream arc, under Sailor Moon SuperS, as well as Stars. Our new Smile Magazine Tokyopop section in the raw downloads contains 21 of these complete magazines for viewing or download. We do not yet own all of the Smile Magazine Tokypop issues that contain Sailor Moon, but this is a very high percentage of them!
We also continue Nakayoshi Rush this week, by finishing off the 1998 issues. Today’s offerings include the entire last quarter of 1998. We round up this week’s Nakayoshi Rush postings with January 2002, with this year being next in our posting queue. Nakayoshi magazine is a famous publication in Japan which has featured shoujo manga for many decades. Sailor Moon is one of many franchises that was featured in this magazine. News relating to any franchises serialized in Nakayoshi is usually posted within the magazine as well. While there are no Sailor Moon or Naoko Takeuchi works in these issues, they do contain chapters from the popular shoujo series, Card Captor Sakura. The 2002 issues feature works such as Tokyo Mew Mew and Musume Monogatari!

That’s all for this week! Next week will certainly focus on Sunday’s news event, as well as continuing through Nakayoshi Rush with more 2002 issues. Remember to set your alarms accordingly, or just stay up all night Saturday night for the live coverage we will bring. Until then, please enjoy today’s downloads of Smile Magazine Tokyopop, the continued Nakayoshi Rush postings, and everything that we have to offer. See you soon!

OH WOW! Why do I have the feeling this announcement will be more than just another line of cosmetics or other merch? This really is exciting. Good luck with surviving that weekend, Miss Dream! We’re all counting on you :)
