The Character Bread Party Set is a piece of Japanese merchandise released by Bandai that uses Sailor Moon characters to create recipes from for little girls. Think Easy Bake Oven, except this kit only really has recipe ideas and cookie cutters.

You’ll notice in this volume that things like strawberry short cake and pizza use regular white bread as a component in the recipes — this is because white flour and yeast are somewhat expensive in Japan, and making dough from those ingredients would be both unfamiliar to Japanese mothers who probably don’t have much experience working with them, and would be too complicated for young children to use. So while we Americans cringe at the thought of using white bread as pizza crust, in Japan it’s an acceptable substitute.
