NicoNico 20th Anniversary Talk Show: Fansubbed!

In light of today’s tragedy, it was really hard for the staff at Miss Dream to carry on with the show and finish the following translation. But, it’s now finally done.

Downloaders: If you would like to view this video in a format different than the one we have provided, I recommend the program Handbrake. It’s midnight EST as I’m writing this and I’ve gotta be up for work early tomorrow morning, so I don’t have the time to do a bunch of file conversions tonight.

We at Miss Dream are looking forward to releasing fansubs of next year’s upcoming anime release – we hope all of you new visitors will stick around as we finish off our PGSM project, share raws of neat Sailor Moon media, and release the complete other works by Naoko Takeuchi (creator of Sailor Moon). It’s been a blast getting to meet and know so many new Moonies!

With a heavy heart, I’m signing off for tonight. It’s a mixed feeling; so much sorrow over Lia’s death, and so much joy with the new anime announcement, and the completion of this fansub project which literally ate up the whole weekend.

Tragedy Strikes

They say bad things happen in threes. With the illness of one of our staff member’s grandmothers, the death of one of our staff member’s dogs, now the ultimate tragedy has occurred: the wife of one of our staff members, named Lia, unexpectedly drowned in the Delaware River.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy, and their one year old son.

With the current economic crisis, Tommy is currently out of work. While friends and family are already doing their best to pitch in towards the cost of a funeral and memorial service, to say that finances are tight for a family undergoing crisis is an understatement.

I’m starting up a donation drive for Tommy, to help raise the money needed for his wife’s burial. Any additional you can toss their way is much needed for the cost of raising their son TJ.

Lia was an artist and an avid fan of Sailor Moon. In her memory, I am posting up some of Lia’s artwork.

At a time when Sailor Moon fans are coming together more than ever, I hope we can all work towards doing something good for Tommy, who has given so much back to our community.

NEW SAILOR MOON ANIME ANNOUNCED: SUMMER 2013

For those of you who weren’t awake at 6:30 AM EST to watch the event streaming live on Niconico, or for those of you who got kicked out of the room for not having a paid account…you can watch the full event via glorious cam-rip here:

The video quality isn’t great but it’s good enough if you haven’t already seen the event!

James and I are working today until 5 PM EST, but as soon as we get home we will be staying up all night to translate the entire hour and 30 minute long broadcast.

To hold you over, this morning on our Twitter account we did a live-blog of the event to translate some highlights from the event; including the news that…

THERE WILL BE A NEW SAILOR MOON ANIME SERIES, STARTING SUMMER OF 2013

The new anime will closely follow the original manga series, will be all-new animation, and will be produced by Toei Animation.
The original voice actors of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, Mitsuishi Kotono and Furuya Tooru will be resuming their roles for the new anime.
The group Momoiro Clover Z will be singing the new anime’s opening theme song, “Z Onna Sensou”, “Z Girls War”, as well as the ending theme. (I don’t know the title of the ending theme yet)

By the way: Yes, I will be releasing fansubbed episodes of the new series – or at least raws of the series immediately after the original air time. ^____^
