Nakayoshi Rush: Start of 1992 with Sailor Moon

Happy Miss Dream Monday everyone! It’s been a fun packed year so far as you can see with the previous updates! Today, we do slow down some as we continue to prepare more materials to post for your enjoyment. Before we start with the new postings, I would like to bring to y’all’s attention our new donate page. A lot of what we do comes out of our own pockets, and we would like to ask for assistance to help offset these costs for materials and maintenance. While we’ve always had a donate link (and another thank you to those who have used it before!), we’ve setup a section to assist with monthly goals. It has been becoming a bit much to keep up with this on our own, and any assistance we can get along the way would be greatly appreciated! =D

News relating to any franchises serialized in Nakayoshi is usually posted within the magazine as well. Fanbuch Scanlations Continue and Raw Doujinshi Additions

Happy Miss Dream Monday everyone! We have another fun update planned today, so let’s get started!

Fanbuch Scanlation Continues

Sailor Fanbuch - Galaxia English translation
Sailor Fanbuch: Galaxia
Starting off, today we will be continuing our scanlation of the German Sailor Fanbuch line. The previously German-only Galaxia is now online! Please note while reading these translations, that these books are essentially the German equivalent of our Tokyopop and other releases. This means that the books may not necessarily reflect accurate information in comparison to the show. This is most notable when these books print out “Ray” instead of “Rei” and so on. These are direct translations of the books, and to maintain the integrity of these translations, nothing canon has been “fixed” as a result.

Raw Doujinshi Additions

Thanks to Sam from Seramyu Antics, we are happy to expand our raw Sailor Moon doujinshi section. Doujinshi are self-published works, usually manga or short novels published in magazine format and distributed at anime / manga conventions in Japan. They are usually released by amateur artists, but sometimes professional manga artists also use them as a way to publish material outside of the control of official companies. Thanks to Sam, the following Sailor Moon doujinshi are being added:

Please also consider hiring us to translate any other work. It appears that we have some months before things go crazy, since the new Sailor Moon anime has been delayed until the summer. Please do not ask about our plans for this if any, as we just do not know with such little information at this time. We hope you enjoy the new postings, as well as everything else already here for your pleasure! See you next week!

Individual Chapter Scans from Nakayoshi magazine Online!

Happy Miss Dream Monday everyone! After ending 2013 off with a bang, we’re going to start 2014 off nice and strong as well! We’ve got another jam packed update with a lot of fun with something for everyone!

New Translations

Sailor Fanbuch - Chibiusa English translation
Sailor Fanbuch: Chibiusa
Like every week, I’m going to start this out with new translations for y’all to enjoy. First up, we continue our translation of the German Fanbuch line, with the previously German-only Chibiusa book!
The next translation was commissioned by Sakky who was nice to let us put on the site as well. She has owned a Sailor Moon Sailor Stars Keytar for some time, and all of its contents have been translated for her and all of you to enjoy! If you’d like to see things you own translated that you own or just in general, please consider hiring us!

Individual Chapter Scans From Nakayoshi Magazine

Individual Chapter Scans from Nakayoshi Magazine
Those of you who have read my 2013 year in review editorial will know that I am really excited about this next posting. And if you haven’t read that yet, you really should, it’s a great recap and look at so many things behind the scenes here at Miss Dream. I was kind of bummed that this wasn’t ready for 2013 given the amount of time all throughout the year that was spent scanning these, and am happy that we can at least kick off 2014 with a bang. Today, we post up our individual chapter scans from Nakayoshi magazine collection! This collection contains scans from Sailor Moon and other of Naoko Takeuchi’s stories exactly as they were printed in the Nakayoshi magazine publications. These are special not only in the sense that they are separate from the entire magazine, but that they contain artwork differences between the book versions, even color pages never released outside of these magazines! At least, not before the Kanzenban release, but these are more rare in that they are not touched up like the Kanzenban release are. These are also special in that all of these were manually hand-scanned. No auto-feed here! To ensure the best quality possible, I scanned the vast majority of these images, with help from sassypants678 and Pixeluna along the way. This is a wonderful collection that we are very happy to finally share with everyone! =D

Nakayoshi Rush 1990 Style

This week’s Nakayoshi Rush is likely the biggest one yet! First off, we are posting six issues instead of the normal five again. The six this week are from 1990, fully completing the year! It’s a nice mix of regular editions as well as Deluxe editions! These issues include a couple of Naoko Takeuchi’s works, including chapters from The Cherry Project, and Miss Rain! There’s plenty of other classic shoujo manga to enjoy as well! Making today’s Nakayoshi Rush bigger is that being the first Monday of the month, we are posting last month’s publication, the December 2013 issue! This issue contains a lot of current shoujo stories, as well as an advertisement for the Perfect Edition “Kanzenban” Sailor Moon manga!

Until then, please enjoy the individual chapter scans from Nakayoshi magazine, the Fanbuch and keytar translations, full Nakayoshi postings, and everything else we have to offer here! See you next time!

Happy New Year 2014!

Happy Miss Dream Monday everyone, and an early Happy New Year 2014! With the new year just days away, we’re ending 2013 off with a bang!

Megumi Ogata “Half Moon” Translation

Half Moon by Megumi Ogata
(Japanese VA of Sailor Uranus)
First up is another CD translation thanks to the same anonymous patron as the previous one. This week, we are happy to put online Half Moon. This album is done by Sailor Uranus’s voice actress, Megumi Ogata. It is actually her very first CD release! This has been translated in the same vein as the other CDs, where we have static background videos with subtitles as the audio plays throughout. We hope you enjoy!

With those, our translation postings for 2013 have come to a close! It’s been a hell of a year here, with so much being done here the entire year. So much so, that I have finally written my first editorial here on Miss Dream. I present to you, the Miss Dream 2013 Year in Review! This piece covers everything we accomplished over 2013 in terms of translations, the massive raws section boom, and some fun behind the scenes stuff throughout. It’s been a great year, and looks to be a fun 2014!

Sailor Moon Perfect Edition “Kanzenban” HQ Scans

However we’re not done yet. As a holiday gift to celebrate the new year, we have raws that y’all are going to love. These were released last month and been highly requested ever since. Today to help ring in the new year, we have scanned volumes 1 and 2 of the Sailor Moon Kanzenban manga! This is the Perfect Edition manga which started its Japanese release in late November, and will have two volumes per month released. Each volume is bigger in both page size and content, where it is planned to consolidate all of the Sailor Moon acts and stories into ten volumes. These feature updated artwork and some text, and has color pages from what was previously only colored in Nakayoshi issues from the 1990s! These books are beautiful, and we are happy to provide such high-quality scans of them!

Merry Christmas 2013!

Happy Miss Dream Monday everyone! With this week being Christmas, we have a lot of fun gifts to post on the site today! First off is a translation of an interview done by Comic Natalie earlier this month, with Osabu and Kotono Mitsuishi! It essentially hypes up the merchandise and the like, and is a fun read! You can see the whole thing (minus the last page, which is literally just a catalog of the new merchandise) here!

Comic Natalie interviews Osabu and Kotono Mitsuishi

Speaking of Osabu, sassypants678 noticed recently that there is not really much information about him known. So much like what she did earlier this year with Naoko Takeuchi, she has put together a wonderful page for him. Please enjoy the new About Fumio “Osabu” Osano page!

Learn more about our favorite Osabu!

Another fun translation is coming up today as well. This is due to the generosity of an anonymous patron, who hired us to translate this and is allowing for us to post this on the site. Going online today is our translation of Sound Drama Collection – Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S – Danshi Kouseniri! Tsui ni Meguri Atta Unre no Hito! There were a number of drama CDs (and cassettes as mentioned in the recording itself!) released with mostly dialog relating to the Sailor Moon anime. This CD takes place during the Sailor Moon S season. For this release, we have the audio playing against a static background with the subtitled translation going with it. I’m sure y’all will enjoy it!

Sound Drama Collection – Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S – Danshi Kouseniri! Tsui ni Meguri Atta Unre no Hito!

Making this update more special is that we also post the final of Misty’s Sailor Moon manga comparisons. As Kodansha USA’s final volume of their release has come, so has her guide comparing all of the different translations of this manga. You can view this here for your entertainment and reading pleasure! Thank you Misty for keeping up with this the whole way through!

I’m also happy to announce another new site feature – PGSM Screencaps! Over the next several months Mary G will be creating screencaps using our release of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, and we’ll be sharing them here on the site. Each episode has over 3,000 individual screen caps, so please enjoy!
